Genevieve M. Hamer, Administrative Assistant
Genevieve M. Hamer
If you enter into a conversation with Genevieve, one thing is for certain – you won’t get bored. A self-described “craft-a-holic,” she can teach you all about crocheting, cross-stitching, and scrapbooking, or you can ask her about her training in Lakota Sioux spirituality. A native of North Carolina, Genevieve is of Native American descent and even once met Fern Matthias, the civil rights leader of the original American Indian Movement (AIM).
But if these subjects don’t interest you, never fear! Need to know something about cars? Genevieve spent five years working in the auto salvage industry and learned the business from the ground up. This meant countless hours reading car owner’s manuals. Or how about residential real estate and mortgages? She spent ten years working in that industry. Then, there’s horticulture. She obtained a certificate in the field from Wake Technical Community College.
Despite this diverse and well-rounded history, Genevieve is now primarily focused on being of service to others, and what better way than working for a family law firm? Her firm belief in putting others first shows not just in her work at Rosen but also in volunteer work for a non-denominational prison ministry called Kairos.
Having engaged in undergraduate studies in Business Administration at Shaw University, Genevieve brings a great deal of training and experience to her job. Of course, the fact that she was on the President’s List with a 4.0 average at Shaw and won a Gold Medal for academic excellence ain’t hay either! As her academic record attests, Genevieve is a bit of a perfectionist, and this shows in her willingness to go the extra mile for both colleagues and clients.
